Justin Hartley Comments on Colter & Reenie’s Potential Romance in Tracker Season 2

Justin Hartley Comments on Colter & Reenie’s Potential Romance in Tracker Season 2

Justin Hartley discusses the likelihood of Colter Shaw and Reenie Greene dating in Tracker season 2. A few years after leaving the popular family drama This Is Us on NBC, where he starred as Kevin Pearson, the actor returned to network TV with a smash show of his own. Hartley portrays Colter, a self-described reward who is based on Jeffery Deaver’s 2019 book The Never Game. In the Tracker cast, Hartley is accompanied by a strong supporting group that includes Fiona Rene as Reenie.

Hartley and his co-stars from the show attended the inaugural Tracker panel at San Diego Comic-Con (via People), where they revealed new details about what to expect from season 2. When asked about the possibility of Colter and Reenie being together, the procedural’s lead star squashes hope about the matter, citing how complicated it would be for his character to be in a committed relationship. Read Hartley’s full quote below:

I think all of the things about him that are heroic and brave become reckless and selfish. It’s like, I’m going to leave my house and go through all this stuff and put myself in danger and you’re back here worried about me. I just don’t think that’s a good look.

Should Colter & Reenie Get Together in Tracker Season 2?

Hartley & Rene Have Great Chemistry

Colter’s allies in Tracker include Reenie. She usually assists him with legal concerns because she is a lawyer. She works with Bobby Exley, Teddy, and Velma Bruin on his unofficial squad. In season 1, she served as Colter’s go-to person for a lot of his cases. On occasion, though, it was Reenie who required his assistance. He was delighted to help, especially after all that she had done for him. Because Reenie and Colter were so close, Jensen Ackles’s Russell contacted her when his brother didn’t answer his calls.

Reenie and Colter are quite tense with one another. In Tracker season 1, they are flirty with each other in addition to being excellent business colleagues. Because of this, viewers have started to wonder about the possibility that they could eventually be an item. Despite their chemistry, it’s difficult not to consider how this would impact the story moving forward. As Hartley pointed out, Colter isn’t primed to be in a committed relationship. It could ruin the dynamic that he and Reenie have, which has been fun to watch and it would be devastating for their relationship to eventually fail.

Therefore, even though there is virtually little probability of Colter and Reenie dating in Tracker season 2, the show can still benefit from their chemistry. They may be exposed to the popular will-they/won’t-they dynamic over the course of several seasons of the show. By taking this path, the tension between the two characters can be preserved without committing to a long-term plot.

Tracker Cast & Character Guide: Who Else Stars In Justin Hartley’s CBS Show

Justin Hartley has found his first project after This Is Us: the CBS television series Tracker, which has a number of well-known and gifted cast members in addition to Hartley. Ben H. Winters’ action-drama series was given the highly sought-after post-Super Bowl timeslot, and it debuted on January 11, 2024, right after Super Bowl LVIII. Tracker profited greatly by the network releasing its pilot episode just after the football game, which was one of the most watched television shows in history.

The Never Game, the first of Jeffery Deaver’s four books in the Colter Shaw series, was published in 2019. Tracker is based on this book. The show stars Hartley as the main character — Colter Shaw — an expert survivalist with a complicated past who excels at tracking down missing individuals. Although Colter mostly has a solitary lifestyle, he depends on a handful of individuals to aid him in his cases, and these characters (along with a few of Colter’s family members) make up the rest of the Tracker cast.
