And not only is the Spring Baking Championship back, but some of our favorite Food Network personalities are as well. Once again Jesse Palmer is hosting this warm and inviting baking competition. Talk about American Pie! Jason Biggs hosts Netflix’s Blue Ribbon Baking Championship
Jason Biggs and Sandra Lee tag in as host of the new Netflix food competition series Blue Ribbon Baking Championship in August.
Summers in full swing, and it is going to stay in full swing on Netflix well into August. The streaming service will be taking foodies with a sweet tooth to the state fair on Aug. 9 with the release of the brand-new food competition reality series Blue Ribbon Baking Championship. All the classic fair food will become a battleground for a group of bakers looking to win it all.
On July 10, Netflix released the official trailer for the series and announced the release date for Friday, Aug. 9. Ironically, American Pie star Jason Biggs will be hosting the baking competition series, but this time around, he will not be doing that to the pie. Sandra Lee, a Food Network celebrity, and Blue-Ribbon winner herself, will co-host and participate as a judge on the show.
Ten bakers from around the United States will compete for a $100,000 grand prize in this new show, which consists of eight 45-minute episodes. Each baker will put their pastry and sweets skills to the test. Pies and candied apples, fair favorites, will be up against competition from the contestants, who will probably have to spice them up in novel ways.
Watch the trailer for the show below to get a sneak peek!
Along with Biggs and Lee, Sandra Lee, who is also an executive producer on the show, will have the help of award-winning artisan baker Bryan Ford and former White House pastry chef Bill Yesses as judges who will taste-test each delicious dessert and determine the destinies of the ten competitors. It goes without saying that Biggs and all of them are dessert experts, but whatever.
