However, Theresa celebrated their divorce in a rather conventional way by going out with her friends. Not just any girls, either, as the resident of New Jersey journeyed to Minnesota to share a drink with Leslie Fhima, a woman who had experience ending a relationship with Gerry.

Leslie Fhima and Theresa Nist were the last two women on the first season of The Bachelor’s senior-focused spinoff, so Theresa really couldn’t have picked a more fitting companion to spend a big night out with as the papers officially dissolved her marriage to Gerry Turner. Theresa posted the ladies’ selfie on her Instagram Stories:

Leslie Fhima and Theresa Nist remained friends after meeting on The Golden Bachelor, despite the fact that both ladies fell in love with Gerry Turner. Leslie even made an effort to show Theresa some love when the couple announced their upcoming divorce on Good Morning America. On Thursday, June 13, a judge approved a settlement dissolving Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist’s marriage, two months after the pair made their separation public. Three months had passed after their wedding, which was broadcast on ABC, when they made the news together on a GMA appearance.
The pair was the subject of numerous speculations about why they broke up so quickly, most of which focused on the distance between their home states. Gerry Turner lived in Indiana close to his kids and granddaughters, but Theresa Nist continued to live in New Jersey close to her family.

There were allegations stating that Gerry had been “caught in lie” and that he had no intention of leaving Indiana, and former Bachelor Ben Higgins claimed to have heard that the couple’s disintegration was due to an argument over cornfields.

Susan Noles of The Golden Bachelor, who ended up performing Gerry and Theresa’s wedding, stood by the 72-year-old retiree, claiming he “got the wrong end of it” because Theresa was the one who had decided not to resign from her position and move.

I’m glad Theresa Nist was able to travel to Minnesota to commemorate her divorce from Leslie Fhima, even though distance does appear to have contributed in some way to the golden divorce.

The first season of The Golden Bachelorette will premiere in the fall, so keep an eye on the 2024 TV schedule for the date.
