California’s Long Beach (KABC) An abducted youngster in Long Beach was discovered safe an hour after an Amber Alert was issued, according to the authorities.
Just after 7 p.m. on Tuesday, authorities say a parent made a delivery in the vicinity of 1st Street and Linden Avenue and left a 2021 Honda Accord running and unattended. This led to the warning being issued. With 4-year-old Justin Chan inside, the car was taken.
Authorities found the car with the toddler inside on Pine Avenue in Long Beach by around 8 p.m. Although there was no apparent sign that the boy had been hurt, paramedics were being sent to the area to assess him. At the scene of the recovered car, a guy who appeared to be the boy’s father was seen embracing him on AIR7 HD footage.
After receiving the Amber Alert, two Orange County women who were in the vicinity had the initiative to search for the vehicle for a while. Reagan Dunn claims that she drove around looking for the stolen automobile on a whim and that’s when she and her buddy Yenny Lu saw it and dialled 911. We decided to start exploring after receiving an Amber Alert on our phone,” Dunn said to Eyewitness News. We spent ten minutes driving around when we started. We chose to continue searching once our journey came to an end.
I looked over at her as she drove. I thought to myself, “Wait, I just spotted a grey Honda Accord. I saw the licence plate, 8XP.” We parked there after she turned around. I made a 911 call. The licence plates matched as we dashed across the street.”
They stayed till the police showed up. They claim to have seen the youngster in the vehicle’s rear. He seemed terrified and bewildered, but otherwise unhurt.
“I believe he realised he was protected.”
The man who took the automobile with the youngster inside is still being sought for by the police.

The 4-year-old who was the subject of a Long Beach Amber Alert has been determined to be safe. Public notifications from the California Highway Patrol and the Long Beach Police Department at the time of his abduction said that the boy had been abducted on Tuesday, February 13 at around 5:30 p.m. PT.
Following the discovery of a missing youngster in Long Beach on Tuesday night, the Long Beach Police Department revoked the amber warning that had been issued. At first, according to authorities, 4-year-old Justin Chan was stolen in Long Beach on Tuesday at around 5:30 p.m. when someone stole a delivery driver’s car. And at that moment, the youngster was inside the vehicle.
A few hours later, the 4-year-automobile old was discovered abandoned close to the Pike outlets. Officials stated that Justin was reunited with his parents.
The child’s father delivers meals, and at one time he left his Honda running while his son was still inside, according to the FOX 11 team on the scene. At that point, the 4-year-old was still inside the car when a suspect got inside and drove off.
Tuesday night, the kidnaped youngster from Long Beach was discovered unharmed. But the suspect is still evading capture. The toddler was recognised by the California Highway Patrol as 4-year-old Justin Chan. An AMBER Alert was triggered after the youngster was stolen at around 5:46 p.m. close to Linden Avenue and 1st Street.
According to Long Beach police, he was in the backseat of his family’s car when his father left the engine running and went outside to drop off a DoorDash order. The youngster was still inside the grey 2021 Honda Accord vehicle when a suspect jumped into the driver’s seat and took off. The stolen vehicle was found by police on Pine Avenue, close to Long Beach’s The Pike Outlets shopping centre, just before 8 p.m. Images from Sky5 show the automobile encircled by many police cars from various departments.
After receiving the AMBER Alert, two kind-hearted individuals stated they hurried over as soon as they saw the stolen vehicle parked on the road. A good Samaritan named Yenny Lu remarked, “We drove like spaz trying to check whether that was the appropriate automobile or not. Reagan Dunn, the second good Samaritan, stated, “I contacted the police when I believed I saw the automobile.” “We checked again, and the licence plate matched.
The small child was observed being securely taken from the automobile and having his injuries examined as police stormed the scene. He was reunited with his father, who was also there at the incident.
Authorities have not yet released a description of the culprit, who is still at large. According to Dunn, the boy’s mother expressed her gratitude to them for reporting the car so quickly.
In a statement on X, Long Beach Mayor Rex Richardson stated: Our first responders’ incredible work has allowed Justin Chan to be discovered safely and reunited with his family. I would like to acknowledge and express my gratitude to @LBPD and @CHPsouthern for their prompt action and efficient coordination, which resulted in the small boy’s rescue.
Investigations into the event are still ongoing. Police in Long Beach are asking anybody with information to give them a call at 562-435-6711.
The Amber Warning
The California Highway Patrol and the Long Beach Police Department released an AMBER Alert in reaction to the kidnapping. According to the description, Justin weighed thirty-five pounds, had brown hair and brown eyes, was three feet six inches tall, and wore red jeans and a blue shirt.
Residents of Long Beach and the surrounding regions were on high alert as the alarm travelled around the town, closely examining every grey Honda Accord they spotted driving by. It was evident that everyone was worried for the child’s welfare and wanted to see him returned home.
