In the official Marvel Cinematic Universe chronology, Deadpool 3 is really happening. Alongside Captain America and Iron Man, the vulgar, fourth-wall-breaking, blood-stained mutant is now canon.
With Deadpool’s entry into the MCU, watching the Marvel and X-Men films consecutively is probably going to get even more confusing. Put that aside for a moment; Deadpool has always embraced chaos, and with Wolverine returning, we’re expecting one of the finest comic book films since, well, Deadpool 2. The plot, the cast, and the release date of Deadpool 3 are all that we currently know. Cerebro wasn’t even required, anyway.
Release date of Deadpool 3
As previously stated, Deadpool 3 will now be released in theatres on July 26, a little later than its initial May 3, 2024 release date. Deadpool 3 is coming to UK theatres on July 25, so moviegoers there will get to watch it one day early.
The film was once supposed to open in theatres on September 6, 2024. However, it was postponed to November 8, 2024, then abruptly advanced six months, before landing on its present date. Hopefully, as of January 24, 2024, when filming concluded, that date won’t alter. Naturally, Ryan Reynolds celebrated the event by posting a photo of his crotch, while Hugh Jackman posted a video of himself having a haircut.
The film was first shot in May through July of 2023, but it was halted due to the Hollywood writer’s and actor’s strikes. Set leaks affected the production when it started in late November, but we want to maintain the surprise, so you won’t see any of those leaks here.
Cast of Deadpool 3
Naturally, Ryan Reynolds would return as Wade Wilson, better known by his stage as Deadpool, and he has some very important company. Hugh Jackman will play Wolverine in his MCU debut, as was previously reported. Although the specific canonical workings are yet unknown, we anticipate some multiversal antics. Previously, in December 2022, Jackman clarified: “We are able to travel back in time because to a mechanism that allows them to do so in the Marvel universe; this is all possible due of “science.” As a result, I won’t have to tamper with the Logan timeline, which was significant to both the fans and myself.
Reynolds officially made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in a commercial featuring the character Korg from Thor: Ragnarök. He also made an appearance on the Avengers Assemble: Flight Force ride on the Avengers Campus. Emma Corrin has been confirmed to be the movie’s main villain, which is a very exciting new development for the entire Marvel world.
Although the role they will be playing is yet unknown, we do know that they need a “Marvel debrief” before to filming. Though it hasn’t been verified, the latest rumour is that they’re portraying the X-Men supervillain Cassandra Nova.
Deadpool 3 will be the MCU debut of Matthew Macfadyen, star of Succession, who will also be portraying a TVA agent who is suspected of being Mr. Paradox, according to the first teaser. While some of the new heroes on the X-Force team didn’t make it long enough, we were able to witness characters like Cable in Deadpool 2. (Josh Brolin). However, Domino (Zazie Beetz) won’t be around for the third movie, as the actress has stated.

The initial teaser teased the return of X-Force allies Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), Yukio (Shioli Kutsuna), Shatterstar (Lewis Tan), and Peter. We now know that Stefan Kapičić is back as Colossus (Rob Delaney). As long as Deadpool 2’s post-credits scene is considered canon, Vanessa, Deadpool’s girlfriend, is one character in the franchise who has already eluded death. The first teaser features Morena Baccarin, who revealed in April 2023 that she will be reprising her role as Vanessa.
Vanessa’s lack of screen time in the follow-up was previously defended by Baccarin when viewers said the film was “fridging” Vanessa. She remarked, “It’s understandable that people felt that way, and I was unhappy that I didn’t have more to do because I really like the part. “However, after seeing the movie and reading the screenplay, it seemed like such a crucial and emotionally charged part of the storey, and everything that occurs to my character in the movie sets up his entire journey.” Thanks to a tweet exchange between Reynolds and Leslie Uggams, who portrays Blind Al’s roommate, we already had a good idea that Blind Al would be making a comeback. Uggams’ return was formally announced in March 2023.
Karan Soni is returning for his third Deadpool film, reprising his role as Dopinder, according to the same release. If you were expecting for another MCU crossover including Charlie Cox as Daredevil, you should give up because Cox said he would not be appearing in Deadpool 3 in December 2023. However, he wouldn’t say that, would he? However, Jennifer Garner’s comeback as Elektra is (presumably) coming. When questioned about her comeback in November 2023, Garner declined to corroborate the reports that surfaced in July 2023. A potential comeback as Charles Xavier has also been hinted at by Patrick Stewart, who said that “it has come up” without providing any further details.
Plot of Deadpool 3
The first trailer for Deadpool 3 has been out, but we still don’t know everything about the film. We believe that the third film will include Deadpool’s arrival in the MCU, acknowledging that he is now in a separate realm and not just reprising his MCU status, based on a storyline tease from co-writer Rhett Reese.
For fish out of water, it’s a great chance. The protagonist of a film is a crazy guy named Deadpool. It’s as easy as dropping a crazy into a really sane planet. It will be a lot of fun, “Reese took notice. It’s unclear if the film will essentially be a soft relaunch or how the MCU link would affect the series’ continuity from the first two films. Does this imply that Deadpool 3 will focus more on time travel?

When we last saw Negasonic Teenage Warhead, she was repairing Cable’s time machine to allow Deadpool to make up for previous wrongs, including Ryan Reynolds’ unfortunate but amusing career decision.
Trailer of Deadpool 3 As previously stated, on February 11 during the Super Bowl, the Deadpool 3 teaser was released. Although we only see Wade Wilson and his shadow, there is a crossover between Loki and Wolverine, as well as several glimpses of the gory set pieces that will be in the film.
