Dee & Friends in Oz release date, cast, storyline, trailer release, and everything

Dee & Friends in Oz is based on the children’s fantasy novel published in 1900. It was subsequently made into the beloved film in 1939. The storey revolves around a little girl who finds a magical key that transports her to the realm of Oz, where she must defeat the evil wizard in order to preserve magic.

The Hollywood Reporter was the first to report on the series, which was one of many announcements made by Netflix’s Kids division in September of last year.

Lead writer and co-executive producer Halcyon Person discussed the project with THR, saying, “We think that, at its core, Oz delivers ideas suited for young viewers: the significance of friendship, the fortitude to believe in yourself, and that every kid has the capacity inside them to be a hero.

Producers of the series are Brown Bag Films and 9 Story Media Group, who have worked together on Netflix before. The pair previously collaborated on the four-season Netflix series Karma’s World, which also featured the publication of two volumes of Karma’s World music videos. The Netflix series Ada Twist, Scientist, Ridley Jones, and Angela’s Christmas were produced by Brown Bag Films.

A number of new animated Netflix original series, including Hot Wheels Let’s Race, Dee & Friends in Oz, and Mighty Monster Wheelies, are scheduled to debut in 2024. In contrast to the popular shows CoComelon and Gabby’s Dollhouse, the newest preschool offerings on Netflix mostly draw on well-known screen IP.

It’s a pleasure to collaborate with reputable companies like Hot Wheels, whose vehicles are already well-liked, to realise an exhilarating racing programme. In a similar vein, we adore the chance to bring parents and children together for a family movie night with our adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ Sneetches,” adds Netflix vice president of series animation John Derderian.

Release Date of Dee & Friends in Oz

Netflix officially announced the release date today, February 5, after we first learned of it late last year. This should also indicate that Hot Wheels Let’s Race, a popular new kids’ cartoon franchise on Netflix, will debut in March 2024.

For your convenience, we’ve published a brief trailer from the upcoming series to our YouTube channel and placed it to the Netflix page for the show.

While Markeda McKay is said to be voicing Dee in the new animated series, we’re still waiting on additional details regarding the cast. We’ve contacted Netflix to request further information.

The “Remind Me” option on the official Netflix page for Dee & Friends in Oz allows you to add the movie to your queue and receive updates when it becomes available.

Dee & Friends Oz Season 1’s Plot

A captivating preschool musical that transports young listeners to a fantastical world is called “Dee & Friends in Oz.” A lively young woman named Dee accidentally enters the fantastical country of Oz, where she finds herself in a magical setting full of endearing creatures like talking scarecrows and tin men that are eager to win your heart.

With a shared goal in mind, Dee sets out on a perilous mission with her newfound allies to save Oz from impending peril. They learn that genuine power comes from togetherness as their unbreakable relationship becomes stronger through setbacks and victories. The metamorphosis of Dee into a fearless heroine from an inquisitive youngster is proof of the infinite value of friendship. This musical offers a captivating journey filled with poignant teachings and life-changing experiences.

We think that at its core, Oz conveys lessons that are ideal for younger audiences, such as the value of friendship, the bravery to have confidence in oneself, and the idea that every child has the potential to be a hero.

We’ve expanded on the 100-year history of Oz to suit the demands of this new generation by telling the tale of a girl who is lost in a dream world and longs to return home. Rather, it’s the tale of a little Black girl who, in the course of discovering who she is, unashamedly makes a home for herself in this fantastical setting.

A significant milestone for the venerable Oz property is also marked with the debut of Dee and Friends, which is the first time the cherished IP has ever been updated and remade in a preschool series format. We can’t wait for children and families everywhere to experience the new musical adventures of Dee and Friends in Oz in the new year, which is based on the cherished and iconic Oz property.

Enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at the imaginative and magnificent fantasy realm of Oz, which was created by the incredibly talented teams at Brown Bag Films, 9 Story Media Group, and our friends at Netflix.

Dee & Friends Oz Season 1 Cast

We can’t wait for Netflix to reveal the whole cast of voice actors as the series goes on. Despite the lack of formal confirmation on the cast, we already know a little bit about the characters who will be included in the future series. The series’ brave protagonist, the Cowardly Lion, takes centre stage as the embodiment of courage.

In addition, the Scarecrow, with his cunning and intelligence, serves as the interesting tritagonist, while the Tin Man, a model of steadfast resolve, is the dependable deuteragonist. Furthermore, the recurrent character Dee adds complexity and coherence to the storey as it progresses. We eagerly await Netflix to provide the complete and most recent cast list for the show.
