Plot The Seven Deadly Sins
When the rust-covered knight scares away their patrons, the presumably young proprietor of the Boar Hat pub and his talking pig Hawk mistakenly believe the figure to be one of the Seven Deadly Sins. The knight turns out to be Elizabeth, a young lady who is searching for the Seven Deadly Sins, the most powerful order of Holy Knights in the Liones Nation.
These individuals have been marked as wanted criminals for allegedly betraying the kingdom 10 years prior. The bar hears that the Holy Knights executed a coup d’état and took over Liones while aiding Elizabeth in escaping the Holy Knight unit known as Beard of the Mountain Cat. The proprietor of the bar, Meliodas, announces himself as the commander of the Deadly Sins and bearer of the Sin of Wrath. Twigo, the head of the unit, affirms Elizabeth’s status as Liones’ third princess. Twigo is easily vanquished by Meliodas, and he and Elizabeth make their getaway aboard Hawk’s Mother.
Since Meliodas is searching for the other Deadly Sins, he decides to assist Elizabeth and gives her a new dress to wear while they are travelling and working as a bar maid. The company quickly made their way to Bernia Village, well-known for its Bernia ale. There, they discovered that a Holy Knight had magically shut off the water supply with his sword after a lad called Mead had taken issue at the knight’s disdain for the inhabitants. The villagers attempt in vain to remove the sword, but Meliodas succeeds in doing so with the ease of a Holy Knight, and he is acclaimed as a hero by the Boar Hat inhabitants. The Holy Knights of Fort Solgales notify their commander Gilthunder that his sword has been taken away.
In an attempt to ascertain whether Meliodas was the one, Gilthunder unleashes his power-infused spear. Meliodas detects the spear and deflects it into the stronghold, just missing Gill thunder’s skull. In the hopes that one of his allies may be hidden in the Forest of White Dreams, Meliodas makes the decision to depart from Bernia.

Even the Holy Knights steer clear of the misty, deep Forest of White Dreams, where Meliodas’s troop finds itself. They come upon Prankster Imps who try to trick the travellers by imitating their friends, which drives the imps to run away in the direction of a sleeping giantess that they awaken.
When Diane, a member of the Seven Deadly Sins with the Serpent’s Sin of Envy, sees Elizabeth, she temporarily beats her captain out of jealous wrath. Meliodas reveals that Diane is the giant. When Gilthunder shows up, Elizabeth recognises him as her childhood friend before learning of his deeds in Bernia Village, ending the unexpected meeting.
Meliodas recounts the events based on his recollections of the Deadly Sins, and Gilthunder says that he wants to get revenge on Zaratras, the grand master of the Holy Knights, who the Deadly Sins were rumoured to have killed. Gilthunder, however, won’t listen as he and Meliodas successfully inflict a fatal wound on him. They then con him into disclosing the whereabouts of the members of the Deadly Sin, who are supposed to have died of avarice and sloth.
After hurling Gilthunder from the forest, Diane teams up with Meliodas to free their friend Ban, the bearer of the Sin of Greed, from Baste Prison, which is controlled by the Weird Fangs division of the Holy Knights. However, Meliodas unexpectedly passes out from his wounds, and the party makes a halt at Dalmary Town so he may receive care from local physician Dana. Diane and Elizabeth exhibit jealousy of each other for knowing how best to assist Meliodas, while the latter chooses to go to the jail.
They soon battled a group of deadly insects headed by Friesia from the Weird Fangs, and Diane overcame her fear to kill the swarm and leave. When Elizabeth later follows up with Meliodas, she discovers that he has been poisoned by Dana just as the Golgius of the Weird Fangs approaches her with Meliodas’s sword. However, Meliodas then unexpectedly awakens. When Ban at Baste Prison hears about Meliodas, he escapes his cell.
