FORMULA 1 SCHEDULE SEASON 2024

The 2024 Formula 1 official calendar has been revealed. A record-breaking 24 Grands Prix are scheduled for the calendar. The calendar doesn’t include any new races, although China returns. Since the COVID-19 epidemic began in 2020, there hasn’t been a race.

The Grands Prix of the Netherlands and Belgium will return in July and August, respectively, on the schedule. For a long time, there was doubt over the race at Spa-Francorchamps. The Ardennes Circuit event will be back on the F1 schedule next year, despite the F1 executives’ strong desire for a race to take place in South Africa.

Two Saturday races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia will open the season in March. There will be three test days in February. There is also a Saturday for the GP of Las Vegas. The season ends on December 8th, which is very late, and there is a visible big space in the schedule for October.

Among the other noteworthy adjustments is the advancement of the Japan Grand Prix. This event has routinely taken place in October in previous years, a month when the hurricane season tends to provide less favourable weather. The Azerbaijani Grand Prix follows a different path and is now merged with the Singaporean Grand Prix later in the year.

The World Motor Sport Council-approved schedule for the 2024 FIA Formula One World Championship has been released by Formula 1. The 24-race schedule starts on March 2 in Bahrain and ends on December 8 in Abu Dhabi.

Greater calendar regionalization will ease logistical difficulties and increase the sustainability of the season, as Formula 1 has made apparent.

This calendar improves the flow of races in some regions by moving Japan to April, Azerbaijan to September, and Qatar back-to-back with Abu Dhabi. The work will go on, but it will be realistic given that, being a world championship, there will always be travel that is necessary and cannot be fully regionalized due to climatic and contractual constraints.

The Grand Prix will be held on a Saturday for the season’s first two races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. We have made this choice in light of Ramadan.

Due to the holy occasion, the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix had to be moved up one day. Since there would be two weekends in a row, it was decided to race on Saturday in Bahrain as well, to give ample time to transport all of the freight to the next race.

For the first time since 2019, the Chinese Grand Prix is scheduled to return to the Formula One schedule. The event was earlier postponed in 2023 for a fourth year in a row due to the nation’s stringent COVID-19 regulations.

Pre-season testing is scheduled to take place in Bahrain on February 21–23, barely one week before to the season’s first race. The season will begin on February 29 and run until December 8, 2024. Because Ramadan begins on March 10, the first two races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia will take place on Saturday evenings rather than the customary Sunday.

Calendar: 24 races in 2024

In 2024, Formula 1 will reach new heights as it will have a record-breaking 24-race schedule for the first time. Watch live race weekends on Sky Sports F1.

Returning to the Middle East, the season gets off on March 2 with back-to-back races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia (March 9). Because of Ramadan, they will both happen on a Saturday in 2024.

The President and CEO of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali, stated the following on the unveiling of the 2024 schedule: “I am thrilled to announce the 2024 calendar with 24 events that will offer a thrilling season for our fans across the world.” Formula 1 continues to be highly popular and in high demand, and this schedule, in my opinion, finds the ideal mix between new and established sites and classic events.

I would want to express my gratitude to all of the promoters and partners for helping to make this fantastic programme possible. In the upcoming years, as part of our Net Zero 2030 goal, we will continue to reduce operations and move toward a more sustainable calendar.

When is the 2024 Formula One race?

In an effort to make the sport more sustainable, the regulatory body of the sport, the FIA, has attempted to regionalize the calendar for the 2024 season.

This year’s season will have an Asian leg nearer the beginning of the year because to the Japanese Grand Prix being shifted from its customary September date to April. The event will now take place during the fourth round of 2024, right before the Chinese GP, instead of its customary summer break location.

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku will now take place in the second half of the year, one week ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix, due to the Japanese Grand Prix moving to the beginning of the year.

Moving the Qatar Grand Prix to the penultimate race of the season will facilitate the transportation of vehicles and equipment to Abu Dhabi for the season finale the following year, as well as address the drivers’ heat-related concerns.
