The Killer’s Game Trailer: Dave Bautista Orders His Own Assassination & Instantly Regrets It

According to the teaser for Killer’s Game, Dave Bautista plays a hitman who orders his own murder and then regrets it. The upcoming action comedy, directed by J.J. Perry (Day Shift), is based on the 1997 novel by Jay Bonansinga. Rand Ravich and James Coyne adapted the script. It centers on an experienced assassin who orders a hit on himself after being told he has a terminal illness only to find out it was a false diagnosis. The cast of Rebel Moon features Sofia Boutella, Ben Kingsley, Terry Crews, Pom Klementieff, Scott Adkins, Drew McIntyre, and Marko Zaror in addition to Bautista in the starring role.

OVERVIEW

After receiving the incorrect diagnosis, Dave Bautista’s character decides to carry out his own murder, leading to hilarious and exciting outcomes.
The film depends on Bautista’s skill despite having difficulties adequately reimagining its unoriginal subject.

In this action-packed and humorous teaser, hitmen target Bautista’s character and girlfriend in a revenge plan.

Lionsgate unveiled The Killer’s Game’s first official trailer today. Watch it down below:

In the teaser, Bautista plays seasoned assassin Joe Flood, who has been given three months to live due to a deadly disease. Joe sends an army of his old comrades out for the murder in order to order a hit on himself since he doesn’t want to cause any pain or suffering to his girlfriend Maize (played by Boutella). But when Joe finds out his diagnosis was mistaken, he has to battle his army of fellow assassins.

What To Expect from The Killer’s Game

Can Bautista Overcome Its Unoriginal Premise?

The central idea of the film—a man ordering his own murder—is not particularly original. Previous executions include the Australian film The Suicide Theory (2014) and the 2007 film You Kill Me, which also stars Kingsley. The film’s greatest challenge, on the other hand, is reimagining its unoriginal idea in a way that feels exciting and new. It makes an effort to accomplish this by fusing humor with action. Even with a competent performer in Jamie Foxx, Perry’s debut feature Day Shift garnered mixed reviews for its uninspired action-comedy. It will be interesting to see if Perry can learn from his previous errors with Bautista.

The Killer’s Game trailer, which aired at CinemaCon, previously unveiled the core idea of the film. But now that the official trailer in its entirety is accessible online, more details are known. Marianna (played by Klementieff) orders Joe’s own death since she believes Joe killed her father years prior. Joe calls Marianna to terminate the contract after discovering his diagnosis is false, but Marianna, who is still bitter, makes calls to all assassins in Europe in an effort to get revenge on Joe.

Following Guardians of the Galaxy, Bautista and Klementieff are reunited in The Killer’s Game.

The teaser also shows that Joe hires hitmen, who then start pursuing his girlfriend. Before time runs out, Joe must battle his fellow assassins in order to win back the woman he loves. The unoriginal premise of the Killer’s Game trailer is a mixed bag, but Bautista, who has successfully merged comedy and action in the past, may be able to make up for any flaws.

September 13 is the day when The Killer’s Game opens in theaters.

Rebel Moon Cast Guide: Every Actor Starring in Zack Snyder’s Sci-Fi Movie for Netflix

Rebel Moon, a sci-fi story in two parts directed by Zack Snyder, with an impressive cast that includes two-time Oscar winner, regulars in the fantasy genre, and frequent collaborators. Rebel Moon, which is set in a tranquil space colony under siege from a warlord’s oppressive armies, centers on the actions of a brave woman and the warriors she gathers from neighboring worlds. Though not much is known about Rebel Moon’s plot, Snyder’s Netflix exclusive was first intended to be a stand-alone Star Wars film. Rebel Moon, however, was relaunched as the Watchmen and Justice League director’s very own science fiction original when his negotiations with Lucasfilm fell through.

Rebel Moon’s loose connection to George Lucas’s Star Wars means that the well-known hero’s journey cliché will inevitably surface. In this instance, Sofia Boutella, star of The Mummy, plays Kora, the protagonist who travels across many planets in quest of warriors who uphold moral principles. The story’s Seven Samurai-esque structure guarantees that a number of well-known actors be cast in the Rebel Moon role as Kora’s allies. There’s certainly room for some entertaining voice actors among the Rebel Moon ensemble, as the sci-fi movie features robotic and alien characters.

Sofia Boutella As Kora

Leading the Rebel Moon ensemble is Sofia Boutella as Kora, a lady from a peaceful farming colony in a distant part of the galaxy. Her community’s survival is threatened by an evil empire, so she sets out to find warriors who can aid her in overthrowing the hostile government. Kora is just one of the many sci-fi and action films that Boutella has been involved in. She also starred in Atomic Blonde as an undercover French agent, as the blade-wielding assassin Gazelle in the Kingsman franchise, as the entrapped Egyptian princess Ahmanet in the Tom Cruise-led Mummy reboot, and as the alien scavenger Jaylah in Star Trek Beyond.

Djimon Hounsou As General Titus

As General Titus, the head of Belisarius’s army and Rebel Moon’s main enemy, Djimon Hounsou, who has twice been nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, joins the cast. Hounsou gained notoriety for his roles as the captured fisherman Solomon Vandy in Ed Zwick’s Blood Diamond, the mutinying slave Cinqué in Amistad, the gladiator Juba in Gladiator, and Mateo Kuamey in Jim Sheridan’s in America. He also frequently writes science fiction and fantasy; thus, it makes perfect sense that he would be a part of the Rebel Moon ensemble. Playing the Kree soldier Korath in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which debuted with Guardians of the Galaxy, is one of Djimon Hounsou’s comic book movie roles.

Ed Skrein As Admiral Atticus Noble

Admiral Atticus Noble, a villain in Rebel Moon and the enigmatic Balisarius’ right-hand man, is played by Ed Skreins. Rupert Friend, star of Homeland, was first in line for the Noble position, however he withdrew owing to schedule issues. Taking his place was Ed Skrein, who maintained his villainous streak after portraying the artificially subdued adversary Ajax in Deadpool. In the third season of Game of Thrones, Skrein gained popularity as Daario Naharis, a mercenary and the ex-lover of Daenerys Targaryen. In Alita: Battle Angel, he also portrayed the cyborg bounty hunter Zapan.

Ray Fisher As Darrian Bloodaxe

Zack Snyder wants viewers to move past the Snyderverse, but in Rebel Moon, he intends to bring back a significant Justice League member. In the Rebel Moon cast, Ray Fisher portrays Darrian Bloodaxe, a resistance fighter who enlists in Kora’s fight against Balisarius’s terrifying tyranny. In the DC Extended Universe, Fisher is most recognized for her role as the cybernetically enhanced superhero Cyborg. Despite having a turbulent time with the DCEU, Fisher received high praise for his portrayal of Cyborg and his alter ego, former college football player Victor Stone, when the 2021 director’s cut of Justice League was released. Fisher is also well-known from her role as True Detective season 3’s Henry Hays.

Charlie Hunnam As Kai

Charlie Hunnam plays Kai in Rebel Moon. Since Rebel Moon’s initial appearance, new information about Charlie Hunnam’s enigmatic persona has emerged, including the fact that Kai was armed and wearing a green hood. Kai is a hired mercenary and spaceship pilot by Kora; he’s the Rebel Moon version of Han Solo, and arguably the most obvious Star Wars comparison. Having starred in King Arthur: Legend of the Sword as the title king and Pacific Rim as Jaeger pilot Raleigh Becket, Hunnam is no stranger to action and sci-fi blockbusters. Hunnam is well recognized for his role as Sons of Anarchy’s motorcycle vigilante Jax Teller on television.

Anthony Hopkins As Jimmy

Jimmy is a robot who was once the valiant king’s servant. Anthony Hopkins, a surprising addition to the Rebel Moon cast, provides the robot’s voice. Cinema fans are familiar with the actor from his roles in The Silence of the Lambs, where he played smooth-talking serial killer Hannibal Lecter, and The Father, where he played dementia patient Anthony Evans. In the animated epic Beowulf, Hopkins voiced the stern King Hrothgar in a former role. The seasoned actor has portrayed characters in science fiction and fantasy films, such as Sir Edmund Burton in Transformers: The Last Knight and the sage god-king Odin in the Thor films.

Doona Bae As Nemesis

Nemesis, a cyborg and swordmaster in the Rebel Moon cast, is portrayed by South Korean actress Doona Bae. Nemesis is enlisted by Kora to become a member of the group of misfits. Bae, who is well-known for her performances in both Korean and English, was once an archer in The Host and a political activist Cha Yeong-mi in Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance. She also plays several roles in the Wachowski films Cloud Atlas and Jupiter Ascending, where she plays bounty hunter Razo. She also plays Sun Baek, an ambitious kickboxer, in the TV show Sense8.
